Global warming is melting the Arctic sea ice at an alarming rate, taking with it the vital habitat of polar bears and other wildlife. The last two years were the worst ever recorded for sea ice loss. If current trends continue, the Arctic will be ice free in summer by 2040, depriving polar bears of the hunting and denning grounds they need to survive.
